STYLE MINI-SERIES: Denim Jacket // FOUR

OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS WE’RE TALKING ABOUT THE DENIM JACKET, WHY IT’S A KEY WARDROBE PIECE AND HOW TO STYLE IT FOR THE CURRENT SEASON.

In this post we’re concluding the mini-series will another fun look. First up we covered smart casual, then we went street style, followed by double denim. Now we’re going to be styling the denim jacket with one of this seasons hottest trends. Metallics.

Metallics are everywhere in stores in some form or another. However, chatting to some of our clients we’ve heard first-hand that they can be a little tricky to put on rotation for every-day style. That’s because they naturally command attention and sometimes it’s just nice to blend in.

Why should I try metallics?

Well, if you’re looking to develop your style you need to try new things that might intimidate you a little. It’s equally important to know what works for you and what doesn’t. Sometimes the only way to know for sure is just to give something new a go – even if it isn’t for long.

So for today’s look we went the full nine yards and picked the most metallic piece we could find and paired it with the beloved Dahlia Denim Jacket from Max.

Our stylist Anna Kate wore this look at New Zealand Fashion Week at the end of August and due to the weather she layered a fitted turtle neck underneath for added warmth. It’s important to know that with this kind of look there aren’t many styling tips needed because this outfit is all for fun!

Styling Tips:

// Wear your favourite shoes, whether sneaker or heels
// Use the denim jacket to tone down the over all look
// Keep your metallic piece the centre of attention by keeping your accessories to a minimum
